How to Play Crazy Eights
Crazy Eights is a fast, fun card game similar to UNO. Play cards that match the suit or rank of the top discard — and use 8s as wild cards to change the suit whenever you want. First to empty your hand wins!
📋 Rules
Objective
Be the first player to get rid of all your cards. You play against an AI opponent.
Matching
On your turn, play a card that matches the top of the discard pile by suit OR rank. For example, if a 7 of Hearts is showing, you can play any Heart or any 7.
Eights are Wild
8s can be played on anything. When you play an 8, choose any suit for the next player to match.
Drawing
If you cannot play a card, you must draw from the draw pile. If the drawn card is playable, you may play it immediately.
Winning
The first player to empty their hand wins the round!
🧠 Strategy Tips
- Save your 8s for when you are stuck — they are your escape card.
- When playing an 8, choose the suit you have the most of to maximize your options.
- Try to play cards that force your opponent to draw. Changing suits to one you know they lack is powerful.
- Pay attention to what suit the opponent draws on — they probably lack that suit.
- Clear your hand of high-rank cards early so you are not stuck holding them.
